Terms of Service

1. Overview

Bambu (“Bambu,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides account aggregation and personal finance insights through a mobile and/or web application (the “Service”). By using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Service.

Bambu currently offers view-only financial account access powered by Plaid Inc., a leading account linking service. We do not initiate transactions, transfer funds, or offer investment products at this stage.

2. Definitions

Service – The Bambu mobile and/or web application, including all related content, tools, and features.
Linked Accounts – The financial accounts you choose to connect to the Service via Plaid or other integrated vendors.
Vendors – Third-party service providers, such as Plaid and cloud hosting platforms, that support our operations.

3. Eligibility & Accessibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of a jurisdiction where Bambu is available. You may only link your own financial accounts. Use of shared, unauthorized, or fraudulent accounts is prohibited.

We strive to make the Service accessible but may be limited by vendor availability, device compatibility, or network conditions. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

4. Linking Your Accounts via Third Parties

By linking your accounts, you authorize Plaid and any future authorized vendors to access and transmit your account information from your financial institution(s) to Bambu.

Bambu receives read-only data such as balances, transaction history, and account details. We do not store your banking credentials.

You acknowledge that Plaid’s terms and privacy policy govern their handling of your data, and we are not responsible for their availability, performance, or security.

5. User Obligations & Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, related systems, or networks.

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of any portion of the Service.

  • Use any automated means, including bots, scripts, or crawlers, to access or collect information from the Service.

  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest, and restrict access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Identity Verification

Since Bambu is view-only, government-issued ID verification is not required at this stage. If we introduce regulated financial services in the future, identity verification may be required to comply with applicable laws.

8. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality of the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, are the exclusive property of Bambu or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

9. Limitations of Liability

We are not responsible for errors, delays, or omissions in information provided by your financial institutions, Plaid, or other vendors.

We are not a bank, investment adviser, broker-dealer, or tax advisor. All information is for educational purposes only. Any decisions you make based on our insights are at your own risk.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Bambu, its affiliates, and its and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or in any way connected with your use or misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or any third-party rights.

11. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. If changes materially affect your rights, we will notify you. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

This Agreement is governed by U.S. state laws without regard to conflicts of law. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in an agreed state, except small claims court cases where eligible. Class actions and jury trials are waived.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15. Export Compliance

You may not use, export, or re-export the Service except as authorized by applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations.

16. Disclaimer

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, or other professional advice. 

Bambu does not recommend or endorse any specific investment, security, financial product, transaction, strategy, or financial institution. Any analytics, projections, forecasts, categorizations, trends, or insights presented through the Service are illustrative only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for making financial decisions. 

The Service relies on third-party data providers, including Plaid and connected financial institutions, which may provide incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable data. Bambu does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any information displayed through the Service. 

Past financial activity, trends, or projections shown within the Service are not guarantees of future results or financial outcomes. 

You acknowledge and agree that any financial decisions you make are solely your responsibility and at your own risk. 

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bambu regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications, and proposals, whether oral or written.
